Every day the day gets closer

We talked with our social worker this past week.  Apparently the "95% finished" didn't mean things were going to happen too quickly.  She said there is a backlog in paperwork and that it would probably be at least October until we get our daughter.  We're trusting in God's timing.

In the meantime, we are so excited that Carmen's brother Lowell & Melissa Ens are coming August 24 to pick up their son Kamin from here in Thailand!  It is going to be so amazing for our daughter to have a cousin from Thailand in the family.

Getting Ready

Well, we've cleaned out the extra room, dug out the baby toys, worked out the budget, and planned out the fall.  We can't wait but we know everything is in God's hands and we trust His perfect timing.  We could get the call anytime, or it might be several months.  It's kind of like the wait when you know the baby is due to be born anytime, except drag that out over a few months, and take away the sore back and swollen feet.  Okay, maybe it's not really like that.  But still, it's a wonderful time of anticipation.

95%!

Talking with a TLC church member after a service recently, I (Carmen) ended up sharing about the process of our adoption.  As I shared our ambiguity regarding our timeline because of the way the local social system functions, this friend told me that his sister in Bangkok has favor in the social system and could possibly get more understanding of our adoption timeline.  We ended up meeting with our friend's sister in Bangkok, and felt God encouraging us through our time with her.  Several days later, she called us after visiting the social work office, and shared that our paperwork is complete and that we are at 95% of our process!  We know that it is by your prayers that we have come this far.  Please pray with us for a quick finish to the remaining 5% - that God would hasten the day we are united with the daughter He's been preparing for us, and us for.
